DSM Research has developed Micro-Compounders, Injection Molding
Machines, and technology specifically designed for drug development
studies. In your quest to identify and develop promising active
pharmaceutical ingredients (APls) into the next blockbuster
product for your company, two factors must be minimized to
ensure success:
time to market
development
costs
Questions you might have...
- How long does it take you to compound an API and create
a tablet or capsule to be used for dissolution testing,
bio-availability studies, or stability studies
- Are the number and size of your development batches by
the cost and /or the availability of the API used
- What if you could conduct your studies using less API
material
- What if you could compound and manufacture a sample in
minutes using only grams of materials
Answers
DSM Research offers Micro-Compounders that are small, cost
effective and minimize the use of API. The core of these Micro-Compounder's
are the fluid proof mixing compartment containing two conical
mixing screws. Both the compartment and the mixing screws
are specially treated to make them chemicals resistant. The
mixing is digitally controlled for torque and temperature,
resulting in superb dispersion preventing agglomeration. Micro-Compounders
are available in sizes that can disperse and extrude 5 or
15 of your test formula. DSM Research's Injection Molding
Machines (right) are built based on the same leading edge
technology, utilizing batch sizes of 3,5 or 10 ml. Material
prepared from the compounder is injected directly into conical
shaped molds of
your design using a mechanical plunger powered by compressed
air. Several sample tablets or capsules can be manufactured
at one time in less than 4 minutes.
